fishing at bumping
« on: July 29, 2010, 02:03:01 PM »
My friends and i will be camping at Bumping this weekend. We were planning on mainly fishing Bumping but also maybe hitting up a few of the rivers around there. I have never fished Bumping before ans haven't fished the naches river in a few years. I was hoping i could get some pointers. We will be bringing a boat but we may also fish from the shore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I also checked the washington fishing report web site and the most recent they had for bumping was a month ago. Also are they any rattle snakes up there. Thanks

I was up there monday thru wednesday and the lake was really slow...
Had better luck in the river w/flies & small spinners. Lots of 10-14in bows, a few
small cutts. No snakes that I saw. Lots of crawdads though!
Good luck!
The more I get to know the less I find that I understand.

thanks for the advice. Just got a few more blue fox, mepps, panther martins and a few rooster tail spinners. We should get there around noon or one tomorrow. I will bring my camera and will also have my cell phone to take pictures with. Might also go on up to the Nile and drive around and look for animals. Should be a good time.

thanks for the help guys. sorry it has taken me a while to get the update up for you guys. I came back and the computer wasn't working. Then the truck broke down. Ended up getting a new truck Friday. The plan was for us to leave enumclaw around 11 and of corse that didn't happen. We called our friend that has a boat and he decided to come over later on that night and fish the next day with us. He wouldn't get back to enumclaw from fife until 7. We loaded up his boat for him and then we ended up leaving at 4 or so in the afternoon. Got there a few hours later. Not one open place to camp. It was very crowded finally found a spot after looking for close to an hour. Me and my buddy fished that night from the shore. didn't catch anything. There was a good thunderstorm and some rain that night. Hit the lake about 7 the next morning. We didn't bring the motor thinking that it was a smaller lake and that we could just paddle around, we were wrong. Fished until about 1. I caught a few white fish. Another thunderstorm was coming so we got off the lake and decided to head over to minors for lunch. Came back and fished the river, caught a few and lost a few. All in all it was a good trip. Next time we go back we will bring the motor for the boat and try some trolling. Again thanks for the advice.

very cool, even if you didn't catch a big trophy it's still nice to step away from civilization and hook into something.
