I have duty tommorow, but if I can get off work at a good time on tuesday I will be heading up that way, again. Tempted to take my labs for a walk :o  The path that was next to where the bear went thrashing was a creek, that had slow water. Me and my friends, searched above it, below it, and went through the berries :bdid: and nothing.  There was some crows going crazy on the hill above us.  So we made the steep climb, to find it was a dead skunk, no bear :'(  It makes a man wonder, what type of animal can take 3 shots from a 300 savage and keep going like that.

Here is the picture of the creekbed that we went next too.  In the morning when this took place, a 100 feet was max visibility.

Dont give up...its been cool out. I gut shot (unfortunetly) a spring bear last year...he ran a 1/4 mile before I found him piled up. It was a VERY tough track. Good luck to all who are helping too! They can hide just about anywhere, so check all the stumps/logs you come to.

Yeah once the fog cleared and we started looking, every black spot was a "hey there it is, oh nevermind" We even took the flashlight and looked into the holes where rocks where stacked on each other along the creek bed.  That is nerve racking to stick part of your body into a hole looking for a wounded bear.

Haha, you know you are alive when you are tracking a wounded bear through the brush.
