Hot Deer

Ok so I've gone on a couple scouting trips and its been hotter than the dickens both times, but that hasn't affected the deer it seems, I thought they mostly tried to stay in shade? Couple times I was out early afternoon and saw lots of deer, is that cuz its not hunting season? Luck? Or any other ideas? Thanks guys
