My son is KILLING me about going out to shoot something and I need to test his fortitude before deer season to ensure he'll make a kill when put into a position to do so.  Limited to west side right now.  Where can we find coyotes or anything in season right now that he can shoot?  And what techniques do we need to be successful?

If you live near Shelton just about everywhere you go out of town will have coyotes near by.

You don't have to test your sons fortitude to kill something, if it happens it happens .  If he doesn't feel killing things is where he's at then you have a great target shooting, camping and fishing buddy.

Deer hunting is by far easier than hunting coyotes, you could spend many months trying to figure out how to bring a  coyote in for a shot.

If you want to learn how to hunt coyotes I suggest books by Spomer and Blair and pick up some Predator hunting DVDs consentrate on one that mention "hunting in the thick stuff"
After the first shot the rest are just noise.
