Well I went for a hike yesterday to do some cardio and also to hear some bulls bugle. Well Not sure of mileage but it was about 5 hours of hiking. On the drive there it was wet, but when  I got to my destination it was nice. Anyway, I saw  a heard of 26 cows and calves. I sat and watched them for 45 min. No bull showed himself nor did I hear anything. Found that a little odd with that many cows and no bulls around.

that's probably about how it will be on the hunt too since there are no elk left in the blues :chuckle:

Damn. I was worried about that.

Well, I just got back from a scouting trip. I got there friday afternoon set up camp and was gone with the wind. First night I got into 6 bulls all bugling their heads off. I could not get any of them to move. went to a different spot and I saw one bull but he was to far to tell size really.  Next morning went back and those bulls were still going at it. Every single one in the exact same place. I did not want to go in there and spook em out. I kept hoping they would come out in the open but never did. I met up and B.S'd with bluebulls for awhile seems like a nice guy. I did not see any more bulls that day. It was coming down pretty good this morning but I got up anyway and went out. I am sure glad I did.  I saw a few bulls and one of the is the biggest bull I have ever seen in the blues with my own two eyes. I have no Idea of what he scores and all I own is a POS. Wish I could afford a SLR. (someday) Sorry if the animal pics are not good but its all I got.

He's a shooter in my book.

 Ross-

Saw a huge 7 x 7 in the K Hill area. I was excited to see it, I just wish it would have been in the Blue Creek unit where I got drawn. Have you talked to the biologist up there I have his info if you need it.
