So I heard a crap load of bulls. Got close but just could not see them all. To thick of timber. I saw two bulls that were shooters for sure. One was a 7pt. but I do not think he is gonna make it. He could barely put any weight on his left front leg. I did not see any open wounds anywhere so Not sure how he got hurt. If someone shot him or he got hurt fighting. I saw a 2x5 that I think might be a legal spike for my friends if we see him again. He had a 4 ft spike with a brow tine. I am pretty sure brow tines are under that 4 inch mark
. I also after hearing him fight and bugle for about 25 minutes a real nice bull. Not sure exactly how many points. He had a cluster of them on his tops.
I had some issues trying to take pictures thru the spotting scope since I have never done it before. Anyway I got one blurry picture of the 7 pt.
I am not sure how the scouting will pan out. Cause they could get pushed anywhere by my season, But man was it fun.

Looks like you got a pretty good guide there Ross.
Glad you saw some nice bulls. That 7pt probably got hurt fighting. They're tough, I'll bet he's still kicking around in Nov if no one with a muzzy tag shoots him.

Thanks pathfinder, That was my friends son. he had a good time listening to the bulls talk. It was a nice trip I ran into some guys one who had a cow muzzy tag. After talking awhile turns out they are both hunt wa guys. penhuntsbirds and moses. Nice guys shared lots of stories and some drinks. Moses is still up there hopefully he will get one. I took him to a spot I saw some cows and he almost could of had one. but as elk often do, she did the oposite of what the plan was.

Looks like a fun time out scouting. Scouting is sometimes almost more fun than the actual hunt.....(at least you don't have to pack any meat out on a scouting trip). Anyway, hope you get that 7 during your hunt.

Well 13 days to go. I have been so on edge lately and then my parents have to go get in a car accident. My mother got banged up pretty good. First thing that went through my head was oh Crap.. here we go. I knew someone would try to screw with my hunt. But alas she will be o.k and I won't have to give up any hunting time..
