moultrie cam has gone I/R day and night.
« on: August 11, 2010, 09:04:04 AM »
This thing takes black and white I/R pics 90 percent of the time now, day and night any ideas? I might switch it over to vid mode to see how that side works. It is plenty bright at this spot. It started doing it at my last set that I had the camea in.

Mine does the same thing, I am curious and frustrated also. Would love to hear any suggestions.

put it out in an open area and have it take some pictures, mine was doing the samr thing but I had it back in some timber and was not enough light to turn off the IR.

It's a Moultrie. I've seen them do this before. Might give their customer service a call and see what they say. How old is the cam?

Moultrie has fallen behind in trail cams. I'm much more happy with my Bushnell trophy cams now.

It is because there is not enough light for the camera to take a "daytime" picture. Put it in the open if you wish you have normal color pics. I like the IR just as well.

I have the Moultrie I-50 and it works awsome.  I've found that deep in the timber it goes to IR mode alot.  Doesn't bug me too much because I can still tell what type of animal and how big the animal is even in black and white.

Try a reset which is take the batteries and memory out for a couple hours reinstall and go thru the setup.
