I take both my muzzy and my rifle.  If the bear is close enough I'll shoot it with the muzzy.  Thus far i've taken all of my bears with a rifle.  This year I really want one with the muzzy!!

I am going to try and take mine this year with the muzzy.  I've taken 2 with a rifle and 5 with a bow, but never one with a muzzleloader.

I do. I have a Custom Hawken made by a local Guy. It is a half stock percussion lock .54 cal. Rifle. The walnut stock came from a tree in Sumas Wa. that was struck by lighting. My load for bear is 120 grains FF with a .15 patch and a .530 round ball.
This is my favorite rifle that I own. I have used it at shoots, on grouse ( light load ), on deer and bear. Good Luck this season.  Andy
