MUST READ THIS CHIT 9 BEARS ON SPOT
« on: August 17, 2010, 04:58:03 PM »
WELL went my honeyhole this am 5-530 ish get all set and ready and i hear tons of noise
up high in the trees still kinda dark out finally enough light i see 3 black bear cubs up in
3 different trees eating some wild food.now mind you these are the first live bears
ive seen..at this location these darn things have slipped me for the past 4 seasons
im thinking sweeett and taking many many deep breaths...im shooting from a elevated
blind and shooting my tenpoint crossbow yes i have my disability crossbow license
after 2 hours of watching all together 7 different
cubs 2 to the right of me 3 in frontof me 2 more to the front left of me i hear snappppp
mind youall again ive never killed a bear but caught many on mytrail cams..
about 30 min after that snap i see a very nice bear standing on its back legs
looking towards the cubs to the right of me i would have shot but i had a standing
bear at 30 yards and i wasnt going to wound my first bear so i pass in this area
there is over 50 or more piles of chit loaded with chit...
ok back to the bear it walked off back in the bush..i cant even to think right now
bears all around me.im getting bear fever ok this full grown bear walks out just out of range.
ok i want and need a clean kill..dont give me to much crap for not shooting
about8-830 or sooo i hear snapppppp another huge bear 60 to 100 yards away and no smoke pole oh well
these bears have caled this place home for a long long time..it walked away into the bush and took a knap.it was a
dandy
the worst part of all i forgot my camera for video sony12.1 mp cybershot...
i will get pics in the morning of the day 2 hunts and cross my fingers a bbdown
so i kill a nice bear i want some peperoni stick and summer sausage any tips here is the black bear mom i think
i got her on trailcam a few years back ive never seen the cubs on trailcam also
i hope i see the same thing today cause ill have video for youall.thanks washbcbook from toledo

I think it was a good thing you didn't shoot a bear with all those cubs running around...which adult bear was the cub's momma?
Good thing you didn't shoot...

no kidding.  It would have been fun to watch or see, but unless you see the family jewels dangling, I can't imagine risking killing a sow with cubs.

Hard to say for sure, but it does look...uh....

Anyway, I'd never give someone a bad time about passing up a shot.  Unless I'm the one holding the weapon, I don't know all the reasons that go into passing it up.  Clean kill is always a better choice.
Of sorrow and sickness I've known on my way,
But I'm old and I'm nervis,
I'm cast from the Service,
And all I deserve is a shillin' a day.

Hell,as long as it had jewels hanging I would take a shot at any one of those three bears. That must have been an awesome expierence to see that many bears in one spot!

Very cool post. Would have loved to be there to watch the fun. Also, shoot them all (with a camera) so we can see. Keep at it and good luck.

AS STATED in my post in 08 i was in this area which i thought the trails were deer or elk because i have and still
havent killed a bear getting closer ..sooo since its legal i put some purina deer/elk feed and guess what bears
and more bears kept showing up i have many more or different animals on trail cam but
as you can see in the 08 photo there is feed under the big bear and the smaller bear i wasnt hiding nothing from you all
once i relized this area was loaded with bear i started looking around guess what it was loaded
with natural feed cherrys, apples, black berrys, huckle berrys, and much much much more
im not baiting these bear im just smart and took some advise from another felow hunter friend of mine whom helped me in this area
thanks for the help you know who you are...that i found natural feed that the bears eat
..ive been after these sob for over 5 seasons they have takin 1 MOULTRIE I60
eat one home brew so its PAY BACK dont ya think also im a disabled crossbow hunter

UPDATE MORNING #2 3 HOURS AND NOTHING ILL TRY IN THE MORNING
take your kids hunting
