Headed west to Bear hunt with the Master (updated)
« on: August 19, 2010, 01:07:59 PM »
Well this weekend my buddies David and Nik are going to play cameraman for myself and James (Bearhunter).
The three of us are driving west this afternoon to meet James at his place and from their the four of us, loaded down heavy with camera gear are headed for the backcountry.
We will be packing rifles which is a change for me. Hopefully I can actually hit something with one :dunno:

I will be posting pictures (hopefully some success) as soon as I get back.
Wish the Fearsome Foursome luck! :IBCOOL:

Very nice sounds like fun. Where abouts West are you heading? General Area?  Weather should be cool a bit damp here and there..

One moment you're flying south for the winter, then - BANG - gravy.

Good luck and be safe.  Don't shoot any lab sized bears.   ;)

Well to be honest, we plan on hikeing a long ways in to hunt, so lab sized would be much easier to pack out! :)
plus, we got all the good camera gear with us so we can always just make a small bear look big ;)

Just do my favorite where the hunter crouches 20' behind the bear for a telephoto shot!  Nevermind if the bear's nose is bigger than the hunter's head!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

We had a great trip, but didnt get a bear!
After hiking WAY into the high country and finding there were no berries ripe, we hunted for a couple days and hiked back down and searched the low country.  Bearhunters oldest even came out with us for a afternoon.
Here are a few pictures.

As you can see, the hunt ended VERY well for my truck :bdid:
