What does he score?
« on: August 20, 2010, 12:06:38 PM »
This is a WA buck pictures taken a few days ago.  What do you think he'll score?  Appears to be around 28" wide and its a 7 by 5.

friend of mine shot a 180 class in the alkali a few years ago and this guy is a little bit bigger, I'd say 185 to 190

I'm in the low-mid 170s gross frame of mind.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I'm going conservative on everything now. I'd rather guess low then have it be higher then the opposite.

Quick run down. I just used one side and doubled as he is pretty symetrical.

MB-23
G1-2.5
G2-17
G3-9
G4-6
H average- 16

Total one side- 73.5
Total- 147
Inside spread 22

Typical Gross 170 ish
add 12-13 for extras and you have 183 is.

Just my guess. I could be off somewhere. I usully am.

This is a pretty fair evaluation IMO. I might give him a couple more inside say 24" (I know his ears are a little back in the pick, but still).

I would say:
186 1/8" GROSS
172 3/8" NET

Does it really matter that is a great buck! But I would say he is a solid 172 because of the shallow forks.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

First glance says 180 buck, but you guys are right, closer look says he's probably more like 170.  He's a shooter on any tag for me, regardless of state.
