Hey Coon, i think i can help, ya as i have a little experience to draw from. we are calving now and the yotes come in close to eat the after birth, had one calf killed by a yote before it was even born, they ate the lips and face off it, while it was still in mom. so we are at war. the cows are at home and this is what we do. first of all for us, we have a deck to shoot off and also can crawl out of the basement slider. do not shoot off handed. we are using bipods. be sure your rifle is hitting dead on at 200, or 1.5" high at 100, sight it in if ya haven't. we routinely spot light the ground. the yotes rarely run. if ya can shoot with a bipod or shooting sticks, it frees up your hands to hold the light. now, this is important, if the yote is not liking the whole spot like thing, and moving off, don't worry, simply. bark or hoot at him. do this when you are already on him tracking. when he stops drop that hammer on him.
we have also placed dog food now recently at predetermined ranges and that is really working good. just buy the cheapest big bag you can find, and open it up. they can't resist. good luck.

I'm with you Saylean!  My .300 WSM is itching to go to work.  Hell, I would even try to fling sticks if I could!
