base comand, we got a coyote down. repeat coyote down
« on: August 25, 2010, 10:00:02 PM »
just got my first coyote tonight wth my howa .223 desert camo. all stoked well heres the story.

Just woke up from my sleep at 6pm (work night shift) so i decide to go out and go coyote hunting out by my buds place where the cowiche fire was. I arrive there bout 715ish and 730 i get all set up in the same gullie where we usually go and see yotes or had a couple shots off but couldnt connect due to the thickness of the sage, i then started calling wth my cat nip by primos rabbit distress. Not even 15min later I see something running apx 300yrds out, got a dog comming in so i get ready adjust my power and zoom in for clearity on my scope he then stops at the edge of the gullie. I focus in and got all ready for the shot when he headed into the gullie. I waited till hes out of sight then i stood up turned everything down for a wider view. I see him at 40yrds put my hairs on him pulled the trigger. BOOM yeep yeep yeep, doin the circle dance. Everything happend so quickly that it was awsome, finally got my first dog!  :IBCOOL:  Not a good pic but ill post up a better one another time  ;)

Your hooked now! KILL'EM ALL.
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job." Jose Ortega y Gasset
