home from Iraq, need some help
« on: August 28, 2010, 06:14:18 AM »
So, I just got back from Iraq and now my hunting partner decides he wants to do a high country hunt because I'm only in town through the end of September.  So I am reaching out to the masses for some good honest advice on where to start.  I know that scouting should have been done and multiple trips up high should have been done.  But given where I've been, it wasn't an option.  I will gladly share advice on an area in Idaho that I know.  Feel free to PM me.  Thanks for any help or advice offered.

If you're willing to hike uphill 4 or 5 miles, the Buckhorn Wilderness on the Olympic Peninsula is a good option to consider.

I second this recommendation. It's a great place to hunt; I've been there several times.

Just wanteed to say "Thanks" to those that have sent me pm's and the responses on the open thread.  Now starts the Map studying and maybe a day trip or two prior to the "High Buck" Hunt.  We've narrowed it down to the Buckhorn Wilderness and GMU 203.  It should be interesting and fun.  So we will see.

Thanks again,

Al
