Incentive tag
« on: August 31, 2010, 10:39:28 PM »
I was drawn for the 2010 Incintive Tag. Pretty much i get to hunt in Eastern Wa for elk. The rules are i can hunt any general season with that weapon. But the best part is i can hunt and special permit season i want and as many as i want with what ever weapon i choose. SO!
Any ideas on where im going to find the biggest bull!
This is the year im going to get drawn, i can feel it. NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED... damn :(

Holy Cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They killed the last elk in the Blues in 2009.
Just Kidding.  Introduce yourself and get known amongst the forum.  There are some good guys and gals on here that will help you.
Then buy a good pair of boots, your gonna have to let a lot of bulls walk and sort like hell.
Good Luck.
If you aint hunting, you aint livin'

I'd probably hunt Peaches Ridge or Observatory during the September 20-24 rifle permit season. There is only 1 permit for each of those hunts. There may be some good opportunity in the Blues as well, but for me I would stick to the units closer to home.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I was under the impression the winner could hunt anywhere open to elk hunting on the east side from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31.  He could tag out in the Colockum today even.  Go over to Liberty and shoot that noisy eight-point.
