Bow Elk, Live through you
« on: September 07, 2010, 09:17:23 PM »
I can't be out in the woods with my bow this year.  My wife is having contractions with our "twins to come".  Normally, I spend about 12 days stalking the spike's, and taking pix of the big bulls.  This year I have to live through you.
1.  I want Pix.
2.  I want Stories.
3.  & More Pix.

Good Luck!!!!

Thank You.
I better start having them apply for bull tags this next year.  Then when they are 15 or so, they can hunt branched antlered bulls. :bash:

I had to come back today because of work. I got into them really good opening day. I had scouted a nice open spot with alot of trails leading into it the night before. Showed up there around 5.15 and there were about 40 Elk bedded down. I didn;t see a cow on the outskirts in the woods to the left and she sounded the alarm. Saw a couple of bulls going at it but couldn;t get close enough for the kill all day. I was so excited, I was forgetting to breath for the first hour and a half of light. Great day, I wish I could be there again this morning

My second daughter came on 9/13  :yike: and yes, I missed that season.  I feel your joy (and pain) in this situation.  Hunting is hunting and it will always be there.  Focus on your wife and the blessing of twins and we'll worry about all those frothy rut-crazed, bugling, tree raking, urine-soaked stinky wallowing....uh...ok, sorry.

That's what I like to hear!!!  (newguy) Now that you found the spot...they'll probably circle around that area for awhile...go back and get 'em!
My wife's water broke in the middle of the night.  So, now the Dr.'s are trying to keep the twins in for as long as possible.  I think we are definately going to have some awesome birthday parties in the Colockum.
