The Game Dept refused to admit wolves were there and said the pics were of hybrids.

Hybrids = shooters

That's what I figured but I would want some sort of written and signed document from the WDFW or the local game warden. That way if you were to shoot it and if it turn to out to be a wolf you shouldn't be able to get into legal trouble.

:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: Some of you folks just crack me up  :chuckle: :chuckle: You want to hang someone poaching a deer or elk, but advocate poaching a wolf  :chuckle: :chuckle:

Well think about it. Are deer carniverous? Do they hunt in packs and kill for the thrill and not eat the entire animal? Poaching a predator that kills way more animals than it needs, is far different then poaching a deer. The wolf threatens MY passtime in the woods.

I am sorry - I'm not a wolf advocate, far from it. My family runs a cow/calf operation in NE Oregon, it's a threat. But what you're saying is absolutely ridiculous... Because it affects YOUR hobby, it then make's it ok to break the law? Give me a break... I guess when something happens or occurs to my disliking than I have the right and ability to act without consequence? This is a dead horse I get it, but what bothers me the most are the attitudes of double standard. Right is right, wrong is wrong. Whether we like it or not, we have to follow these laws. What sort of example are we setting for the younger generations that may read this board - that it's ok to poach as long as you feel like it's the right thing?!

What Rosa parks did was illegal. A lot of the civil-rights movement was illegal. Are you saying it was wrong to break those laws? You can't always just conform. Sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe in. What's right.

not at all. Jim Crow laws used to be THE LAW. just because it's law doesn't mean it's right.

Wow , I didn't Know the Wolf population was getting out of hand. So when Did they start slipping the wolves in to our state. I moved to Hawaii in 97 and did not see or hear about wolves being in washington then. I moved back to washington in 07  and there has been so much talk about the Wolves. I have noticed the elk and deer #s  Have declined since I've been back. have not seen the amount of animals I used to see. I agree I shoot every yote Is see now I will Have to make sure i double check now . I feel if the wolves are the cause to the low Elk and Deer numbers than i think we should be able to take some of the wolves out. if the wolves get as bad as the Yotes then the state of Washington will be in big trouble.  :twocents:

"used to be"...

It's "used to be" because people realized the laws weren't right and stood up against them. Which meant breaking them for awhile until they were changed.

Kinda makes the "Ethical Hunting" debate a little more fuzzy huh? I think Grundy's analogy is a good one... Especially because it gets people fired up!
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
