Doe Down (ShadowCat)
« on: September 08, 2010, 05:18:30 PM »
Went out Monday with ShadowCat and he stuck a doe about an hour before dark.  Not quite sure what the deer weighed.  Probably 75 gutted.

SC screwed up his knee pretty bad couple weeks before the season and has to wear one of those knee braces.  So I packed out his deer for him.  Just as I was walking out of the clear cut he snapped a pick of me carrying the deer.  When I tried to get a pick of him with his camera the battery died! :bash:

Anyway here is the doe.

I agree, it was not a smart idea.  Where we were I doubt I'd have been shot at.  Normally I put a hunters orange vest on animals I am packing.  I forgot it at the truck, it was raining, and I wanted out of those tall weeds.  :chuckle:

As far as the back pack deer. . .  I packed my 08 deer out on a pack board and helped BTKR pack out his 08 Bear on a pack board.  I packed that doe out just turning her legs into a back pack and that is the way to go.  Much more cumfortable and the weight was in the right place and I didn;t feel like I was going to fall over.[/

LMAO BLKBEARKLR we are going to try and recon 672 for Elk.  I hate scrambling for a place to hunt at the last minute.

We had permision to hunt private property in the humptulips for Elk and Deer and 2 days before the opener it fell through.   wasn't the land owners fault just a bad timing issue with his health.  :'(  :bash:
