Get ready for some combat hunting if your around my neck of the woods. Muzzy and archery run together and there isnt a shortage of people either. Im not lying either.

Agreed....

I muzzleloader hunted it two years ago and it was nuts...Called in a nice 5X and had him shot 100 yrds away from me by another hunter that just happened to be between the bull and Me..Pretty nuts...I actually helped the guy track it and gut it...lol...boy it sure is a nice area...but BUSY! If your gonna do any sucess there...get to know the area really well...and the farther back your willing to walk in..Obviously the better youll do...Youll notice when your getting into a good area because youll stop seeing, and hearing people....

Goodluck if yah do though! There is good hunting there...Just alot of traffic also...THICK! AJ

I think they are going to start charging for parking so it is a little more organized out there.

That place is crazy with people.  Deer season looks like a traffic jam on I-5 just south of Seattle on Friday afternoon.  We seen 2 guys fist fighting over the smallest spike buck you ever seen shot.  Even the walk in area is full of people.  I worked up there quite a while and didn't see that many elk anyhow.  Not my kind of hunting

Oh and if you think your gona get away from people going behind the gates, think again. Weyerhauser employes get to drive in at will and they do , Really saucks walking in 6-7 miles and having trucks driving around. I waisted my time this year with the wife doing that.  :bash:

That place is crazy. You can shoot yer elk, buy a taco and have the thing mounted by a good taxi all within walking distance of the gate. I bet that taxi will even pack out the animal if you have him do the work. :chuckle:

Just keep an eye out for stray horses when driving up the valley. ;)

the best advice for the skook....hunt someplace else....lots of people in there and has a low success rate for archery.
