Sterile bull?

I have been watching this bull the last 2 years. He has never had cows with him, won't respond to any calls and just recently shed his velvet. He is an old bull. He's a 5x5 about 45 inches wide, but the horns aren't really big. He does have kinda some goofy looking horns though. I don't have any pics of him, as i watch him from 250 to 300 yards away, and i don't have a good enough camera to take good pics. just wondering if anyone on here has any thoughts about what the problem is. I see him almost daily, and can't figure out what's wrong with him. I think i'm gonna have the kid shoot him on opening day of rifle season just to see what's going on.

Guess your gonna have to shoot him and find out!  I'll taste test the backstraps if you need a second opinion.

Could be old age.   Sometimes bucks and bulls will quit breeding and enjoy the solo life.  We could probably learn something from them.
