New to hunting, so haven't had a chance to yet, but hope to get up there sometime. I've spent plenty of time in the Brinnon/Quilicene area. Brinnon has a nice little resident elk herd.

Unless your a local who hunts it during the late hunt...trying not to eat a tag

I drew a late archery antlerless 2nd deer tag for the Miller area.  My girlfriend has a house in that area but we don't get to visit enough to do much scouting.  If anyone has some tips it would be much appreciated!  ;)

Yes, I hunt Kitsap, Mason, and Grays Harbor. It has been fun and challenging. I have been looking for someone who is willing to hunt the wilderness areas of the Olympic Mountains.

My friend and I were talking about wanting to look into the Wilderness areas next year. Maybe we can set something up.

Is the Tubal Cain Mine area in a wilderness? (sure, I could look on a map, just thought I'd check here in case someone knows off-hand)

Thanks for the info Jimmy.

Sorry for going OT a little and the newbie question...are the Wilderness areas open for only High Buck hunts, or also general season?

Sounds great. It would be great to see what the high country has to offer.

Miller Peninsula--There are a few old jeep/off-road trails in that area.  Some of them go through some small open areas.  The area is 'relatively flat' and not much in the way of streams/creeks.  That area can be scouted/hiked fairly easily in a day.  There is a bit of poison hemlock on the trails on the eastern side, which is the more overgrown/less hiked area.

Thanks for the info!  I'll check it out as soon as I can. Hopefully in a couple of weeks.
