Harvested a beautiful color phase bear yesterday. Hiked 9 miles in Friday. Camped Friday Saturday night. Missed a 75 yard shot on a 300 lb blackie after the hardest up slope stalk I've ever done in my life. Sunday made a clean kill on the color phase at 200 yards. She took 2 shots to bring down. Second shot brought her somersaulting down the drainage. Took 4 hours to pack her out. It was nice and chilly at 6000 ft. She cooled down real quick. Ill post pics and details when I get time to get on the computer. Hardest hunt of my life. By far the most rewarding. First bear and a color phase at that. A real trophy that I will cherish the rest of my life.
