scored me a new 375h&h
« on: October 05, 2010, 10:23:09 PM »
I found a nice 375 built on a montana rifle co action and sitting in a mc millian that was built by roger biesen......so I had to buy it! I built some brass out of 300roy stuff that I had laying here and stuffed some accubonds into them, I hope it will shoot as good as the sum of its parts! I feel bad to have mounted a redfield wideview in redfiled weaver bases.....but it is what I had laying around.

I guess the next question is what are you going to use it for? Pounding nails?

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised that the recoil on that rifle isn't bad at all.  Not a sharp recoil at all.  It's been said it feels more like a big "push", and I can confirm that.  I hope it is on the heavier side though.  Classic cartridge.

Who DOESN'T need a .375?  I do.  I might, someday, go hunt bears or water buffalo and really need one.  I just want to be prepared when the day comes.   :chuckle:

I also need a .17, a .204, a .22 mag, .22-250, .222, a .223, a .240, a .243, a 6mm, a 6.5mm, a .257, a .270 mag, a .280, a .284,a 7mm, a .300 mag, a .300 ultra, a .325, a .338, a .340, .35, a .416, a .450, a .470, a .50 and there are probably a lot of other calibers that I could also used - I already own some of them and I can think of a few others that would be useful but aren't on the list.  And, of course, there are all of the "flavors" of each caliber that I would need to own for different shooting situations. Just to be prepared, of course.

Yeah, I was looking for a lighter caliber for hunting prairie dogs, too.   Thinking about a nice flat shooting rifle like a .450 Marlin.
