Partial Tang Palm Skinner...
« on: March 26, 2008, 04:51:09 PM »
For a hunting-washington.com member...

Only my second partial tang, and my first on in the "palm skinner" configuration. It came out really nice! Handles beautifully!

Heavily customized shape and cutting configuration. Cocobolo scales and spacer, soldered nickle bolster, stainless lanyard grommet, mosaic pin, leather snap sheath custom fitted to this knife.

Pics...

Thanks for the look, guys!

That's awesome Steve. I am looking forward to using it this season. You did a great job and it is worth every penny just in looks.

Thanks again.

Incredible.

What is the overall length of that one?

Killbilly, was this a custom request? Beautiful piece.

Rainshadow, as always, beautiful work.  I was wondering, do you ever do scrimshaw on your bone handled knives.  Nothing extravagant, maybe initials or something?  Whats your time line on a order?
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Killbilly, it looks as if you and I might be sharing a piece of tree together.  That cocobolo is awesome.  Makes one HELL UVA Riser for a longbow as well.

Iceman,  6 3/4" overall, 3 1/2" blade.

Gold Tip, Not intricate scrims, but I do inlays and initials and stuff. I've got a few blades to build right now, some basic, some high-end. I could probably get to one within a couple weeks.

Boneaddict, I think you are, actually. I bought 4 big Cocobolo bowl blanks from an importer last year and immediately chopped them into call and knife blanks! Same stock, super rich colors and heavy grain lines.

Sorry I was late on the replies to Ice and Bone. I see Rainshadow1 has already given you the particulars. I am very pleased and it is beautiful wood as well as craftsmanship.

Well as usual, I am late again. I received the Palm Skinner 2 days after the post. It is even better in real life. It has a great feel and is sharp as hell. I have shown  it to everyone who will stand still for a minute and they have all been very impressed. Thanks again Steve.
