Scope suggestions for a RedHawk .44mag???

Any scope recommendations for a .44mag handgun??  I'm leaning towards the Leupold VXIII 2.5-8x32 at almost $500, and was wondering if any of you have found any less expensive handgun scopes that you have liked???
I plan to use the gun for mostly bear-hunting, but am also thinking of using it for deer and elk.  Don't want or plan to shoot anything past say 75-100yds...at least that's my thoughts right now...

IMO I think you're way overspending, too much scope.  If I was you, Weaver K4 fixed 4x about 140$ damn good scope. They have a fixed 2x about the same price.  8x for a .44 handgun? I think thats way way more than you need.

I recommend the Leupold but a variable is overkill for the .44 in my opinion. I have scoped lots of hand guns in my time and never had need of a variable. I always stuck with 4 power and never had reason to regret it.

I've had a couple and I agree with the above!!! A fixed 2 or 4 power is all you need!!! ;)

i had a leupold vx II...i believe that was the model anyway. it was perfect imo

When I scoped my 44 rem in a Bisley Hunter I opted for a 2 x 7 variable only because the fixed powers were 28 objectives and the variables were 32 objectives, and with my older eyes,,I need all the help that the extra size gets me, JMHO

I've got a Ruger SuperRedhawk in 44 with a Simmons Pro-Hunter 2x on it.  Works great and has already taken on bear.
