Where is the San Carlos?

New Mexico?  Arizona?

Yes he is loaded, and he does hunt other animals, but I believe he is an elk addict.

San Carlos is in Arizona and Steve Chappell had a film crew there for 40 plus days filming hunts to make a second San Carlos video, it will be awesome and Dan's hunt will be on there too. I talked to Steve and he said it will have the most incredible elk footage for one video with numerous encounters with 400 plus bulls. And to think I could have gone down there and ran camera for a week or two :bash:  nwhunter

Hopefully this doesn't turn into another bash on the guys with more money than me topic and I do agree that a DIY on public land is a well earned accomplishment for anyone regardless of species. However I have to say that while the guys with the $$$ are able to hunt when and where some of can't they do get out there and hunt in the way they prefer to hunt and the ones who consistently kill big bulls and bucks do so by passing up lots of animals that most of us would shoot in a heartbeat. Watch the first San Carlos video where Dan doesn't even get his gun off his shoulder when a 400 plus bull is called in. He knew what he wanted and was going to wait for it. I wish we all could have these kinds of opportunities at least once in our lifetime but life ain't fair so I will continue to hunt the way I like to in areas I get opportunity to go to and be satisfied with that. The guys with more money will keep doing there thing and killing bigger critters and I will be satisfied looking at the pictures and mounts with maybe a little jealousy and wishful thinking and be glad for the money they contribute to our wildlife and that it isn't going to the antis and peta groups. Ok rip me a new one! nwhunter

Gay...Ive drawn le tags for bulls..no guide And still at the end of a hunt didn't feel a sense of accomplishment. My stupid rag horn bulls with a bow in a otc public land felt more gratifying than taking 330-350 bulls where the hardest part was drawing the tag! I.passed on tons of bulls..cool hunt yes..an experience yep! Satisfying nope!
