opening day hunt
« on: October 16, 2010, 05:33:05 PM »
well me and my son started are hunt at 6:55 so we sat in the car for a hr. it was kind of cold this morning. well we saw 1 doe,5 elk and 1 yote. i should of shot the yote. had him in my scope just had to make sure what was on the other side of him. he ran down a old grown over logging road. so me and my son followed him not expecting him to still be there. got to within 20 yards of the end of the road and he was there. but he seen us and headed for the brush. it was cool to see  the elk. one of the cows was  calling. my son has never heard them do that in the woods. the weather today made it hard as there was not alot of movement. still a nice day to be in the woods.

Glad you at least saw animals: even if not the shooting kind.

Yeah it was definitely chillier this morning ~34deg where I was.  No activity, didn't even hear anyone else shoot all morning.

Taking a poorly chosen "short cut" through what turned out to be a thrashing match with black berry vines broke me midday.  :P
