Back from BEARPAW!!!!
« on: October 20, 2010, 09:44:48 AM »
We just got back from our hunt with Bearpaw Outfitters and I'm gana say it again, they are AWESOME !!

We started off fast with our first set up opening morning, just before shooting light a few does fed out onto the hillside in front of us. A short time later a nice buck followed them into the open, we waited with anticipation for shooting light as the buck wondered off out of sight. Shooting light came and there was the buck back out in the open. Ed lined up and dropped him with the 300 Super Short Mag from Olympic Arms  :IBCOOL: !!!

The next couple hunts we saw several smaller bucks & a few big ones but not in shooting range. On the last morning of our hunt we came up short and called our guide Anthony to come pick us up. We loaded up the blind and the rest of the gear and headed back to the lodge. After talking it over with Anthony we decided the weather was perfect and to stay for one more evening hunt  :chuckle: .

We got set up and within 20 minutes of Anthony leaving a doe & small buck appeared on the hill side behind some trees to our left, another small buck showed up to the right. A short time later they met in the middle and the two little guy's started sparing with each other  :chuckle: .
While they were shoving eachother around and making a bunch of noise I couldn't help but wonder if they would draw the attention of a bigger buck  :dunno: .
About that time Tracy and I both spotted a nice 5x4 step out from the draw to our left, right by the two small gladiators. Both our hearts started pumping a little faster as I settled the camera on him Tracy settled her Oly Arms 243 Super Short Mag on his shoulder and waited for her shot. A couple deep breaths (for both of us LOL) to get steady and BAMMM,,,,, She dropped him with one shot right where he stood and it was all on film  :IBCOOL: . This is Tracy's first whitetale and I cant wait to show you the footage on Addicted 4.....

Hunting with Bearpaw is an awesome experience. The Guides and Outfitters are great people!! They don't hold your hand (unless you really want them to  :chuckle:) They put you in good areas where they know there are nice animals, and you hunt!!! Yes you really hunt and its sweet!!! They take care of you with lodging, food and great places to hunt. You can go guided or unguided and to top it off they are affordable for the average person
We loved every minute of it and will be going back in November.   :IBCOOL:  .......

Happy hunting everyone!!!!  :hello:

Just saw your post Chris, wish I could have been there for your hunt, Anthony said it was a good time. Sounds like the whole group on the opener was pretty much whacking and stacking... :chuckle:

Hey, did you see the big buck the one kid got on the last morning? Anthony said they got a 20 incher?

Busy In Idaho,
Dale

BTW - I am headed to Montana in a few days myself, let me know how you are doing, I have some whopper whitetails and mulies with horns outside the ears running around on one of the properties that need filmed.

How much for those guided hunts..

turkeyman, here is a link to our deer hunting info: http://www.bearpawoutfitters.com/washington_whitetail_deer_hunting.html

I could give you a $500 discount this week on a guided hunt as we could use another hunter this week.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
