You can basically hunt all the areas off of Hwy 18 with the exception of the Tiger Mt St Forest which is the big parking lot off of 18. All of the other gates are either DNR or Hancock and you can hunt them. However you can only use rifles on the eastside of 18 since the westside is a firearms restriction area.
There are King County no shooting areas as shown in red here:[smg id=9899]
Anyone on this site hunt the West side of 18 in the firearm restricted area? I drove by there this evening and only saw two rigs parked at the 4 gates.I was driving to the east side about 4pm and about 2 miles before Tinkham Rd there were 4 elk right on the side of I 90. 3 cows and I think a five point bull. Didnt get any pics cuz the traffic but I've never seen them there. Pretty cool to see.
I've seen elk along that stretch of freeway as well. I've also gone up into the hills at the Tinkham exit and have seen sign up high.I've heard of deer being taken off private land out in that general area, but would it be worth it to chase deer on some of the public land?
