Slick head down.
« on: October 23, 2010, 11:53:57 PM »
Got drawn for a doe in the Wynoochie unit. I wanted this tag so I could have a chance at getting a deer with my girls.. 6 and 8... Well, the day goes by us getting there around 10am, nothing early for me.. haha. Girls are so excited to be riding in the front seat looking for deer. We saw a 3 doe right away, but they jumped in the thick timber before l could get a shot. Well after road hunting in the pouring rain, I stopped and took a nap for 20mins. We started driving and the truck in front of us stopped and filled his doe tag ... kids got excited again. Now they're looking for deer again and not complaining about being hungry. So, we see some deer off the road about 75 yds I get out of the truck, sneak up a little hill, kids are watching me. Booom, I miss. Kids are happy though. We're seeing deer. Then, about 200 yds down the road, my oldest goes, dad 3 deer are standing in the road. I was like, yes there is.. Well, after they jumped off the road, I drive up and get out and the kids are watching, cant see the deer, so I climb up a log pile to find them about 50 yards out. I make a great shot. Kids see the deer jump and run and my oldest goes, I think you got it. Long story short, Slick head down and kids will remember this forever. By far my best day of hunting. Beats out elk hunting for sure. To my girls, Daddy loves you guys so much...

That's very cool that your daughters got to see you take a deer and had fun.  Something you all will never forget.
