Lightweight tripod?
« on: October 24, 2010, 08:57:05 PM »
Hey Guys,

After lugging around my spotting scope and tripod over all creation the last week I've decided I need a new tripod.  Something that is small and lightweight but can go around 30-40" high, high enough to use while sitting on the ground...

I've checked Cabelas and other places online but haven't seen anything that sticks out...

Any recommendations?

thanks!
tim

I've been using the older version of this http://www.leupold.com/hunting-and-shooting/products/mounting-systems-and-accessories/binocularsspotting-scope-accessories/compact-tripod/for years, I use the spotter a lot scouting and hunting.
The tensioner that holds the ball/head in place wont stay tight anymore so I e-mailed Leupold asking about getting it fixed, Leupold E-mailed me back with instructions to send it in and they'd send me a new one free.
A really good tripod and a great warranty.

Gramps told me that there are two kinds of tripods. the kind you can carry easily and the kind that work.
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.
