Early rut this year

Its going to pop early this year if anyone cares.   Deer were REALLY moving this morning.

The buck that one of the guys in my party shot was pretty swollen and smelly, did not want to leave them does  :dunno:

Man I hope you're right Bone, I've seen so many doe its just absolutely ridiculous. Not a single buck though

Theres plenty of room for all of gods animals.... right next to the mashed potatoes!

I haven't seen any signs as of yet. Talked to a buddy that hunts E side. He said he seen a couple small bucks that couldn't keep their nose out of a couple does ass.

Good thing season ended when it did this year.  A late one would have detroyed what herd we have left. IMO

Friend of mine hit and killed a little 3 point black tail last week.It was rutting hard.

they wont start til around Thanksgiving to about the end of the first week of December. Last week of November is prime for WT's unless this state is different.

Seems all is normal in terms of timing for blacktails over here.  Saw a couple does and a yearling without a buck, but got a nice photo sequence of a small buck nosing a doe past a camera last Friday.

When we got home from Idaho last night there was a small 3 point  in my field that was really rutty.  Straight neck and running one doe around.  She was not ready, but he was.

I think there is a song that goes something like that...

The Buck I missed opening day. After we had shot at him 4 times, he chased a doe over the hill with his nose to the ground, and right on her butt. I got it on video even!!! :o
