Snow in Swakane?
« on: October 26, 2010, 09:12:34 AM »
Alright guys,
How much is there if any?  Is there enough to get them moving out of the high country anyway?  When there is an early snow like this will they stay down or will they follow the snow line back up if it stops snowing and gets nice again?  This quality tag is killing me right now.

Methinks you're gonna need a bunch more snow up high to get the bucks to move down this early in the year.

No snow in the Swakane yet.  There has been a fair amount of snow up high but not enough yet to get them moving much.  Supposed to be storms coming through.

I wouldn't get too excited early on in your hunt.  Things will get really good towards the end.

Mission Ridge has snow now.  It wouldnt surprise me if there was snow up high around Sugar Loaf.  Not a lot of it though.

Make sure you have tire chains on your late hunt in case you do get snow.... that is STEEP country!

Has there been much snow up there the last couple days, enough to get them moving abit more?  I was up there last weekend and it was pretty quiet, only saw 4 small bucks and 2 doe's.  Thanks for any info.

Got a little snow yesterday.  They should be starting to move.

Another frustrating weekend.  I am seeing alot of deer, all does and small bucks.  I cant find anything bigger than a 2 point.  Another thing is all the doe's dont have any bucks with them, except yearlings and the small 2 points.  Has the rut started yet or is it already over?

Gutsnthegrass. What part are you hunting. I was coming back home sat. from wenatchee took a 10 min. Drive up a canyon saw a tall 3x4 tending a doe. Nice young buck? There are bucks in the area, Just curious where you have been.
