fort lewis, Saturday?
« on: October 28, 2010, 10:28:28 PM »
Anyone going? I an undecided at the moment. I was in 19 tonight and last night. I did see a huge bodied fork horned. But I was a little concerned he was on private land. There was a barb wire fence with no signage that I could see. Anywho, found a couple places that had a lot of rubs and flat meadows. A lot easier to move around in then clear cuts. Lol

This isn't a "general" area, right? You have to be military personnel?

Man!!!! That's great. I am surrounded by fort lewis were I live. I work alot and it would be great to be able to hunt next to my house (so I could actually hunt for an hour or two before dark, or in the morning, before work). Just register our weapons? Its that easy?

Yep. Just go to teh Adventure center and tell thsm you want to register. They will want information from you weapon you will be using, Vehicle registration, Insurance, and hunting Lic. After that you watch a 15 minute video and fill out the rest of teh paper work.
They now charge a $10 registration fee and sell maps for $2.
You do have to register everyday to hunt and if youare not quick enough it will fill up on you. Only a small number of hunters are allowed in each open area, but remember, not all areas are open, some may be shotgun/bow only, or muzzy only.

I am going to be in area 11 with Grumpymerien.
