Does in heat
« on: November 02, 2010, 03:26:51 PM »
Will a Doe come into heat while she still has a young one with her ?The reason I ask is that I spent alot of time this year watching does with fawns hoping they would attract a buck,no luck yet

Well the first thing would be is the RUT on..... Lot's have said they saw pre rut activity early this year.. Most Year's the rut kicks in about NOV. 7 - 15th.. this could go a week ahead or behind...so if you can get in the woods in the next couple weeks you will see what you are looking for...this is also why some people give up on doe in heat scents..most people use them at wrong time of the year...I am no expert but going off my experience only.

The answer to your question is,, Yes a doe will go into heat while she has last years fawn with her..Sometimes if the buck is lucky he will get the fawn too, if she just happens to cycle early..I have seen that a time or too..
