First Wetside Woody of the year..
« on: November 02, 2010, 03:57:13 PM »
Today we had 2 hours to get out hunting in the morning. We saw lots of geese heading south. And a little improvement on the local duck numbers. We landed up with 5 mallards, 6 teal, 1 pinny, and our first and probably last wetside woody of the year.

Over all we had a good hunt, the birds worked great. If only geese were open right now, we would have had a hell of a day.

He's heading to Birdman Studios. He beats all the other woodies I've got, hands down. He really is a primo bird.

Great bird, and a great picture of it.  :hello:
Everyone shoots three times per bird, right?

nice job bud. I got a woody 2 weeks ago on the west side too, didn't kill it, found someone elses kill. There are definitely more of them than there used to be.

So it took you two weeks to get your first woody? You know they make pills for that...

I tie flys regualry, and have always purchased my feathers, or taken them directly from chickens.  For ducks is there any way to clean the feathers or are they safe from the get go?
