A couple East Wa Mulies !!
« on: November 03, 2010, 03:13:53 PM »
Me , my Brother, and Dad did our annual journey from the wet-side to the east-side for the opener. We had a great time. My Dad filled his doe tag on opening morning. My Bro connected on his biggest buck to date on the second day. 340 yd shot right in the boiler.. My bro buck took a spill off a cliff and got busted up pretty bad, we found all the pieces and he is going to have it put together.
I was able to connect on mine on the forth day. Spotted him bedded at 957 yds according to my RF. I put the sneak on him and jumped him out of his bed at 120 yds, couple of running shots later and he was mine. Great time with my family, love this trip every year. :) :)

Ah, I recognize that terrain; I used to hunt a similar area a lot.  I hunted the driveable side as well as took a boat across the river in some years.  Great job on a couple of nice looking bucks.  Nice job getting a buck on the second day around there.  Not that easy to do, really.

The first buck that I shot in the breaks also fell off a cliff and busted off a couple of tines, broke his skull plate and did 15 foot high bounces down the hill before it finally came to a stop.  I worked hard not to emulate that buck when I was hunting around the cliffs.

I like the steep terrian.   That is earning the bucks.  Hard work makes a good hunt.
