successful alta scouting trip!
« on: November 06, 2010, 04:43:06 PM »
well head out at 4:30 this morning all pumped to see some nice animals made it just past orondo and I was talking to my cousin looked over at him for a minuite looked back at the road all I see is a dead deer in my lane. So needless to say I ran over head.  Not a big deal. Or so I thought.  Ten miles down the road I blow out the drivers side rear.  Damn it. So now I am running a half an hour late.  Thinking to myself
" oh this is how this day is going to go".  We made it up there half hour past light.  Started seeing does. Not much.  Then out of the corner of my eye I see this really big dear at 250 yards.  I pull out the spotting scope and to my surprise a 28" 3x4.  Old buck.  Face white as a sheet. A Little later see a nice spike. Not quite what I wanted to see. But a deer.  On the way out I was driving around a switch back and saw a nice 20" 3x4 standing in the road.  Yes they are getting ready to fire off on some tail.  Necks are starting to get really swollen.  Any ways Had a good time.  One possible shooter for the last day.  Things should be good for the muzzy tag. Sorry no pic's didn't bring my camera.

Sound like you had a good trip. What tag to you have. Rifle or Muzzy? Next time don't forget your camera. Who cares if they aren't as good as Bone's. At least they will be better then no pictures at all.
It's not the size of the trophy that make's it a trophy.
