Hey, I've spent a lot of time in the area as well, as I live in Asotin. I agree with agchawk, there are a few keepers in the area. Unfortunately they are very few and far between, not to mention there is some big country in that area. Luckily you can glass a lot and spend less time walking. My brother bow hunted it a couple days last year. He saw a couple does, a herd of elk, and wolf crap and tracks all over the place. My dad lives on grouse flats on the south base of misery and saw several wolfs, lots of bears, and at least one cougar a month, some times 3-5. It did not help that he was baiting in the predators his food plots and corn box. He just moved, but there use to be 30 legal bucks that hung around his house 5 - 10 years ago. He just sold his place, but when we left there were only 5 left, the cougars got them all. The last month he was living there his oldest deer, a 7 or 8 year old whitetail, got killed by a cougar in his yard. They followed the drag marks across the road and into the brush. It was a 147 inch 4 point. So the moral of the story, don't go there without a cougar, bear, or wolf tag because the predators have the numbers cut way back.
