they are pretty much the best deal in the $400 range. meopta and minox have some pretty good offerings now too, but are unproven. one of my zeiss' is 10yo (+/-) and is beat to death, yet still tracks well and works great. it has spent its whole life on lightweight 300winne and 300rums.

I had one on a .338 win mag. After about 100 shots it went bad. I went from 1" groups to 10" groups.Sent it back to Zeiss and they replaced it. They would not tell me what went wrong. It was real clear and bright. I am back to Leupold now.

I had one on a 7x57 and liked it.  I prefer the Leupold VX3 on magnums.
Nothing witty here.... move along.

You don't need a flatter shooting rifle or a larger caliber. What you need is good field marksmanship. Jeff Cooper.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

I've had one on my Sako 30.06 and besides helping me put my tag on 5 nice mulies, it's had about 500 other rounds run thru it working up handloads. Excellent scope. I like it much better than my two Leupold VXII's on my two other hunting rifles.

I have the 6.5-20 Conquest on my Sendero. Best scope I have ever owned.
