Two trailcams stolen in one day
« on: November 09, 2010, 08:49:03 PM »
One was my W80 homebrew cam, the other a Moultrie D55.  Same area, same day.  I hate to think somebody here could have done it but wanted to spread the word.  These two cameara are unique in that the Sony W80 is a one of a kind, completely custom job.  The Moultrie was painted and distinct.  If you have any information about these cameras and/or their return, I'll make it worth your while.  Otherwise, I'm just venting and am really pissed off.  I've had three cameras stolen in the past 14 months totaling about $500.  >:( >:( >:(

PM me if you know anything.  Both stolen in west Olympia area between 10AM on 10/31 and 11/2.

I'd put a dummy camera.  One that is broken and doesn't work out.  Than put an infered one up in a tree pointed down.  That way they can't see a flash.

The second camera idea sounds good.
There are also GPS tracking devices available.  There was a thread on here not too long ago about them.
Personally, I think it would be cool to strap a claymore to the tree.....that would end their days of thieving. 8)

Sorry to hear it.

Had my first and only trail cam stolen several months ago....   off private property.

Pissed me off to no end.   I actually kept going back to see if it somehow reappeared.....

I hope you catch them.

I hate thieves, but sounds like you'd better start bolting/chaining/locking/cementing your cams to your tree.  Hope you find those *censored*s and give them a boot in the ass.

Man, that sucks Tom.
Where they strapped/bugeed to the trees or where they cabled and locke?

I have a couple of the cheaper Wildviews that you can use until your seasons.

Doesn't that just chap your a$$!

1) Because some thief took something of yours

2) Because it was most likely a hunter that found it and took it

Did you set it up near a popular area for hikers, hippies, and brush pickers?

Sorry to hear about your luck.  Happened to me earlier this fall.  Pretty sad when you can't trust anyone, especially hunters.
