Snohomish river
« on: November 15, 2010, 10:09:12 PM »
I live kinda close to the Snohomish river and know of a couple places that could be a good spot to fish. but is it even worth it? I have a new rod that hasn't even seen line yet and it is yelling at me every time I walk by it. The places I know of is just off of Broadway and off of short school rd. area. is that even a good area to fish? what do you fish with as for bait? What is running right now?

Give it a shot.  There are probably some good fish in the river that you can poke your finger through.   :puke:  Just joking you might find some almost bright ones.

I grew up fishing the Snohomish....live in spokane now.  Should be lots of chums, some late silvers and Steelhead will be trickling in as well.  Totally worth fishing, chums fight like crazy and aren't too hard to catch.  Try Bob Heirman park in clearview,  under the 522 bridge would probably be best.  The lower river probably isnt too great right now....maybe on an in coming tide you could catch a chum  but they just blow through.  Skykomish is an awesome river as well

I have fished the skykomish valley a lot. If it were me this time of year I would say forget the salmon and target steelhead. Head up river anywhere from monroe to gold bar on the sky. Float or drift bait if the water is up, jigs if the water is low. In my opinion the snohomish is best fished out of a boat, espically this time of year when the river comes up. It can be really big water.
