Good luck.  Tough hunting up there these days.

When I lived over there and hunted rifle we did well above Wilkeson in late buck (I mostly had deer but would take friends up there sometimes.)  Not really any big bucks but two points, etc.

Make sure to check the regs and see what's open.  I haven't looked at anything on the west side for awhile.

I wouldn't bother with the white river, hunted there most my life and only have seen a couple nice deer. There is a few more deer in wilkeson, if the locals haven't shot them all up in the elk season.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

 :yeah:

I wouldn't bother with White River. Even Wilkeson would be a stretch for me. Wilkeson is jam-packed with hunters throughout both the general and late season and basically everyone road hunts.

Personally, I would try the Issaquah Unit (454) around the Ravensdale/Cumberland/Kangley area. DNR has been purchasing some land in there for the past 5 years or so, there is also quite a bit of timber company lands that is open to hunt. You can also walk the BPA powerlines. Just make sure your not in a "King County Natural Area" which are closed to hunting.

thanks guys! yeah im not looking for a big old bruiser buck a spike or 2pt would be just fine haha. i just wanna restock the venison in the freezer i checked the other day and wasnt too happy with only a few backstraps and steaks left from my last muley. im not much of a road hunter i hate the thought of riding around in a truck all day hoping somthing steps out id way rather cover alot of ground on foot! ill have to look into the GMU 454. its right up the road from where i live. i do see mass elk out there but not too many bucks. but then again i havnt been looking for deer too much while ive been out there. i used to ride dirtbikes out in ravensdale and along the railroad tracks (b4 they started partoling with with the sherrifs). anyways thanks for the suggestions guys! anymore ideas or suggestions would help tremendously!!! like i said ive hunted eastern wa muleys my whole life and wanna give western wa late buck a try. definatly a big transition from huntin sagebrush and pines to thick brushed wet western wa!
