I’m visiting my family here in New Mexico and yesterday while walking along the Rio Grande  we found this bird, one of my favorites. You don’t get to see these in Washington.

Really interesting bird. I saw one a few years ago beat the heck out of a rattlesnake and eat it in the AZ desert.

I remember in elementary school in SoCal we used to chase those around the school yard. Of course nobody ever came close to catching one, but we'd chase them anyway.
