snow birds
« on: November 21, 2010, 06:16:20 PM »
Went out today after a fresh snow fall. Jumped 3 coveys of quail and some huns. Dog did great today.  I decided to only shot 4. Enough for the wife and I for dinner. Saw a lot of coyote tracks near where the quail hang out so did not want to shoot too many today.

Went out later shot a yote using a mouth call and saw some deer and many elk.

I had the same kind of day, minus the quail, Sam, my Griff pointed his very first pheasant, a hen.  We flushed two other hens as well.  Saw 4 yotes and could have smoked all four, but NO gun.  Saw probably 25 deer tonight, half of them in areas I can hunt starting Weds with the late muzzy....can't wait!
