Toutle Dec 1-15th
« on: November 23, 2010, 06:55:33 AM »
Well looks like I will be able to get down there and do some more archery hunting, anyone know how the snow level is doing down there? Still going to try for my 6x6 but who knows.

BLKBEARKLR:
Be aware that Kalama River rd. and Rose Valley rd. only get deiced about 1/2 way up.  Last year I came out Kalama River rd. after a long day up the 6600; it was a skating rink.  I thought I was auditioning for the next  Tokyo Drift movie.  Had the truck in 5th gear and lugging at about 20 mph, talk about a pucker factor, it took months before the seat cushion to flat back out.

good luck.

Thanks for the info, will keep that in mind, I was going to pull the camper down, but thinking now might just be sleeping in the back of the ranger.

Trying to wait until Friday to figure out if they are going to total out the Ranger. If they do then it looks like the F250 and the Quad.

I was hunting there the past weekend with my boy. Had a blast chasing elk all day long (cows). Snow level was high but was melting fast. Saw 2 big bulls. Both by there self's. One was a healthy 3 legged big 5x5. half mile away saw a very nice 6x5. Tryed to get pictures but they came out dark. Son got within 40 yards of both of them. Can give road numbers if interested.
