So who's going out for a Turkey-Day shoot?
« on: November 24, 2010, 03:42:27 PM »
I dont know for sure if if going to go or not, but Im leaning towards the go! The only bad part is the whole valley is frozen solid. We had a huge push of birds and now they seem to be gone. I went out yesterday morning and through some decs on top of a frozen pond. The ice didn't stop the birds from landing on it. But it did stop me from being able to shoulder my gun as fast as I like. Oh well, we'll see what happens next time.

Well, good luck and have a very happy Thanks Giving to all!!!!!

Hunting off the sno-go is always fun. Long track, sled and go. We used to get tags for caribou off of the Denali Highway. Shot, gut, tie into sled get back to truck, load and go home. Heading onto remote lakes for ice fishing is fun also. Sometimes we bring in the wall tents and stoves for a weekend of fishing.

I am going!  I am so pumped, scouted tonight with my buddy, found a ton of northers and wood ducks.  Gonna decoy for a few hours, then we found a few good open ditches and creeks to jump if it gets slow.  We should do good, if the wind stays down. It seems like almost everything is frozen!

Given up waterfowl hunting this year.  Hunting partner is off to college and I only have duck decoys.   I just found a couple of parcels of land over at Moses Lake that I can have access to some prime duck and goose hunting.  So next year I will be back with waterfowl hunting.
