Does anyone still shoot with film?
« on: November 25, 2010, 09:05:26 AM »
I want to switch to digital but just cannot justify the money.  I still have my Nikon N65 with three nice lenses.  If I use this what is the easiest way to convert the picture to digital format to post pics?  Is it even worth it?  If not does anyone want to buy a Nikon N65??? :chuckle:

Places like Phothause (not sure if thats a big chain) will generally process a disc along with your prints in order to digitalize them.  It costs an extra buck more, but worth it.

Jump in with digital.  I did it years ago after some very successful time with my Nikon F2.  Still have the F2 but have not even taken it out of the case for a loooooong time.  As for digitalizing your old photos, you can get a pretty good flat bed scanner for cheap, scan them and have all of those old photos to send in emails, make slide shows......all kinds of stuff.  Digital cameras are so easy to use, and unlike a film camera, you have instant results and if you don't like it, erase it and do it again.  Nothing worse than taking that shot of a lifetime with a film camera only to find out a week later when you have the film developed, it didn't come out.  Good luck.

I would jump in.  If you buy the right body, all those lenses you already have are still usable.  Thats the glory of Nikon over a Canon.
