Well I started my season opening day hunting blacktails, I did see lots of deer but no bucks worth shooting. To be totally honest the only bucks I saw were both spikes. So Adam(second pic holding horns) and I headed to his dads property in Orville. On the way up the hill to the cabin we spotted 2 whitetail bucks. One was an average 2 point and the other was a decent 3 point with eye guards. My stalk started at 280 yards, and after closing to 90 yards in the open sage I was busted.

Chalked that up as a learning experience and moved on. Later that evening we spotted a group of deer a 1x2, big forky, followed by a nice 3x3. That ended up with a missed shot, and as the deer headed over the hill we seen the forth buck at this point we didn't know what he was. So the next morning we decided to head back to the same spot and look for these deer. As we rounded the corner just before where we were going to park the 1x2 crossed the road in front of us. I bailed out Knowing that the 3x3 was with him the night before. That's when we found out what the fourth buck was, a nice 4x4 he crossed the road in front of me at 30 yards. I was at full draw and he did not stop until he was up the hill about 35 yards. That's when I cut loose an arrow, all looked good until it hit the damn sage.

>:(Well you can guess the outcome. So we headed to another area that's when we found stubby (Looks like he stubbed his left main beam while in the velvet) I put a good shot on him at 20 yards, he turned and ran out of the creek bottom right at me then up the hill behind me and stopped at 30 yards. I knew I put a good shot on him, but he was standing there like nothing had happened so I nocked another arrow and took the only shot I had a hard courting away shot. Another clean pass he took off up the hill and crashed then rolled back down damn ne'er to my feet. All in all an exiting hunt and the best part I learned a lot in three days of hunting.
