This past week, three of my hunting buddies and I stayed at Elk Creek Ranch in Cle Elum for late archery Elk. The thought of sleeping in a tent for four days with snow on the ground just didnt seem that exciting. A friend of mine owns Elk Creek Ranch and he has a 4 room hunting lodge that is outstanding! Rooms are spacious, well heated, plush arrangements and all around perfect. To top it off, he has a 400 yard range for siting in your rifles long range.

Its located right off highway 90 just off Elk Heights Road about 4 miles outside of Cle Elum. You have the option of hunting the property as well as the surrounding hills of GMU336. For the first three days we drove into the hills and hiked out deep into the areas. The fourth day, which was the best, we hiked from the ranch. Seens 40+ deer including some trophy size bucks but few Elk. Unfortunatly, we believe that we just got there too late and they where all pushed out from all the hunting. Coming back to the lodge after spending the day in foot deep snow sure made this trip bearable.

if you decide to ever give this a try check them out at
